Our top priority is the safety of our staff, visitors and stallholders. We've teamed up with the National Protective Security Authority to enhance the security on site, help you feel safe, and ensure you enjoy your time at Bath Christmas Market.
We work extremely closely with our contractors and the police throughout the year to ensure that our event is safe and accessible for everyone; some of these measures you can see, and some you can't. Our measures include:
- - 24/7 on-site security and CCTV monitoring, and SCaN trained event marshals and security during the event
- - Road closures will be in effect every day of the market. Find out more.
- - Safety Barriers and Hostile Vehicle Mitigations
- - Uniformed and plain clothed officers are present throughout the event, including specialist detection dogs
- - Direct line of communication with CCTV, Ambulance Services, Police, and Fire and Rescue
- - Trained medics on-site during market trading hours
- - We do not permit the use of drones without prior agreement. If you would like more information, please contact us.
- - All event staff and our contractors have undergone ACT training
Stall Street One Way System
Due to ongoing essential barrier mitigations outside the Roman Baths on Stall Street, and after a thorough assessment of the area, a one-way system will be in place every Friday, Saturday and Sunday along York Street and Abbeygate Street. These will be constantly monitored and will be removed as soon as our security team confirms conditions are safe.
Protecting our visitors and wider community remains our highest priority. Following expert advice from crowd management specialists, we agree that this system is the best way to keep the event safe and enjoyable during busy times. Additional one-way routes may be introduced if needed, and all arrangements will be closely monitored throughout the event.
Public safety and the smooth running of the market remain our top priorities. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Seen something unusual?
If you’ve come across something out of the ordinary, or something didn’t feel quite right, please let one of our event staff or marshals know as soon as possible. In the case of an emergency, please dial 999 and report it to the relevant emergency services.
