Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without the annual pantomime. Oh no it wouldn’t! This year’s panto is Peter Pan at the Theatre Royal, or treat little ones to the magical Moominland Midwinter at The Egg.
No.1 Royal Crescent is hosting some fabulously festive events this year, such as Twelfth Night (the biggest party night in the Georgian servants’ calendar!) and a workshop where you can make your very own Christmas wreath.
For a day out with the family further afield, Longleat Safari and Adventure Park will be transformed into a winter wonderland, complete with Santa Express and real life pantomime characters! Westonbirt Arboretum's Enchanted Christmas features a spectacular one mile illuminated trail, and this year’s theme for Christmas at The American Museum is invention; kids of all ages will have a great time following the trail around the house.
If you’re looking for inspiration for your own homemade Christmas, look no further than the various workshops throughout the city. Learn how to make a traditional wreath at No. 1 Royal Crescent, create beautiful Christmas decorations for your home at The Makery Emporium, and even produce your own Thanksgiving cards at The American Museum.
